Obituary: Margaret Thompson Huffman, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Genesis Eldercare, Salisbury, NC. She was born October 24, 1917 in Madison County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Alexander Thompson and Inez Powers Thompson. She was a long-time resident of Kannapolis moving here in 1938. Margaret was employed as a hairdresser having worked with MarSan Beauty Salon, Kannapolis, where she had worked with Sandra Waggoner for forty years. She was also an active member at Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, Kannapolis, NC where she had sung in the choir and participated in other phases of church activities. Her family fondly remembers her love of family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a good Christian woman who always loved helping people with their needs. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Key J. Waggoner, Sr.; 2nd husband, James Junior Huffman; two sisters, Willie Lou Benton and Elise Beuse; three brothers, Charlie Thompson, Roy Thompson, and Frank Thompson; son-in-law, Dan Rollings; grandson, Danny Rollings; and her son, Key J. Waggoner, Jr. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, June 17, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Revs. Jimmy Barnhill and Ralph Adams. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Ginny Rollings of Kannapolis, NC; granddaughter, Sherry Eudy (Alvin) of Sevierville, TN; great-grandchildren, Crissy Strickland (Brandon) of Kannapolis, NC and Kenny Eudy of Concord, NC; great-great-grandchildren, Aleah, Hunter, and Austin; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Waggoner of Kannapolis, NC; another grandson, Key J. Waggoner, III of Thomasville, NC; another granddaughter, Lisa Roseman of Concord, NC; other five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Anna, and Kaila, Trey, and Alex; other great-great-grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Lincoln, Chloe; and Bailey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
