Obituary: Margaret Edgison King, 81, of Kannapolis passed away Thursday March 7, 2013 at CMC-Northeast after a short period of declining health. Born December 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Millard W Edgison & Mabel Childress Edgison Griffin. She was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church up until her declining health. She loved to sing and listen to gospel music, especially The Gaithers. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, James D King Sr and a sister, Carol Speight. She was survived by four children, Terry Hall (Kathy) of Kannapolis, Mike Hall (Denise) of TN, Charlene Wiser of Kannapolis, James King Jr of Salisbury; grandchildren, Mark Hall, Jason Hall (Cindy), Matthew Hall (Cassie), Kara Smith (Tim) & Taylor Hall, Jennifer Burroughs (Jeff), Susan Black (Casey) & Sheila Witt (David); great-grandchildren: Hunter & Ali Smith, Kyle Hendrix & Kaleb Hall, Garrett, Gracie, Gentri & Christian Hall, Ashton & Kanon Hall, Brieah Lopez , Payton & Cameron Black, Addyson & Gavin Witt, Matthew & Jason Burroughs; brother Joe Edgison (Patsy) of Kannapolis & Jewel Wagner of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. A funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rich Szekely. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be private at Carolina Memorial Park at a later date. The family would like to express a special thanks to a special friend, Amy, her hairdresser. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
