Margaret Murph Pless

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Margaret Elizabeth Murph Pless, age 94, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. She was born October 10, 1920 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Walter Adolphus Murph and Dorothy Brown Murph. Margaret was a 1938 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. Margaret was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Wash Cloth Dept. for many years until her retirement in 1985. She was a very active member of the Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC for many years especially participating with the "Hot Dog" fundraiser program. She always sent birthday and all other kinds of cards to family members and friends over the years. Margaret loved to travel at earlier times in her life going to Florida and other locations. She also loved eating out as often as possible. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Pless; and her sister, Dorothy Winecoff. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 16, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. William Van Wieren, III. The family would like to say a special thank you to Christie and Rebecca from Gentiva for their devoted love and care giving to Margaret during her illness. Survivors include her son, Terry Pless of Kannapolis, NC; and her niece, Debbie Winecoff Myers of Concord, NC.
