Margaret Sloop

Obituary: - Margaret E. Sloop, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after an illness of one month. She was born November 25, 1929 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Grover N. Sloop and Ollie Belle Patterson Sloop. Margaret was a 1948 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. Margaret was employed for over forty-seven years with the former Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills Company, Plant One in billing and order processing. She retired in 1994. She was an active member of the former Bethany Lutheran Church and later New Hope Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC and had served as a Sunday school secretary for over forty years. Margaret was known by her family and friends as a person who loved traveling throughout the United States and in Europe. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Harold L. Sloop. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service. The family will be at the home of her brother, M. Conrad Sloop, in Kannapolis. Survivors include her sister, Joan Sloop Walter of Kannapolis, NC; her brother, M. Conrad Sloop & wife, Gail of Kannapolis, NC; three nephews; four nieces; five great-nieces & nephews; and numerous cousins.
