Obituary: Margie L. Cook Cleary, 80, of Kannapolis died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her home, after a period of declining health, with her family by her side. Margie was born January 8, 1935 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late Grover and Amanda Isenhour Cook. She was a life-long area resident and member of Ben Ave. Freewill Baptist Church. Margie worked for Cannon Mills - Pillowtex as a spinner for 39 years, retiring in 2000. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Ivor E. Cleary, her daughter, Katie Lou Pethel and her 6 brothers; Virgil, J.C., Grover Jr., Clyde, Roscoe and James Cook and her 2 sisters, Edith Barbee and Mary Basinger. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters; Patricia Jackson, Robin Smith and Sharon Kiser, all of Kannapolis, her son, Bobby Joe Pethel of KY and her grandson, Bryan Pethel whom she raised. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, April 2, at Ben Ave Freewill Baptist Church with Rev Don Draughn officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, at other times they will be at her residence. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday April 1, 2015 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 12:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Ben Ave. Freewill Baptist Church.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
