Margie Ellizabeth Jarvis Linker Foster

Obituary: Margie Elizabeth Jarvis Linker Foster, 96, of Concord died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected. She was born April 5, 1915 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late James Frank Jarvis, Sr. and the late Minnie Lee Freeze Jarvis.She was a lifetime resident of Concord, and moved to Kannapolis in 1979.Mrs. Foster was employed by Cannon Mills as a weaver in Plt. #1 weave rooms #6 and #7 for approximately 35 years, retiring in 1981.She was a member of Mt. Zion First Freewill Baptist Church of Kannapolis where she had been a member of the church choir. She was a former member of the D.A.V. #27 Chapter Auxiliary in Concord. She loved to embroider and read.Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Walt Lyman. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.She is survived by three sons: Bobby (Kay) Linker of Smithfield, Va., Alvin (Virginia) Linker of Charlotte, Doug (Lana) Linker of Concord, five daughters: Joyce Osborne of Mooresville, Elizabeth Brown of Rockwell, Carol (Richard) Shoe of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sue (Dale) Pless of Kannapolis and Janice Evans of Concord. She is also survived by a step-daughter, three step-sons, two step-grandsons, and three step-great grandchildren. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren also survive.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, A.D., Floyd Max, and James Jarvis and one sister, Christine Phillips.Memorials may be made to Mt.
