Obituary: Margie Starnes Lazenby, 84, of Kannapolis died Friday, October 8, 2010 at Best of Care in Kannapolis. She was born April 13, 1926 in Union County, a daughter of the late William S. and Myrtle Tyson Starnes. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was employed at Cannon Mills Plt. #1 in the data processing department with over 40 years of service. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Midway United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dave Cash. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Her husband, John Stephen Lazenby, Sr. on January 31, 2003 and one son, Timothy Dale Lazenby, preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by two sons: Ronald B. Lazenby and John Stephen Lazenby both of Kannapolis. Two Grandchildren: Ryan and Brittney Lazenby of Kannapolis. Three sisters: Joyce (Frank) Eagle, and Jean Troutman; all of Kannapolis and Billie Ann (Herb)Apointe of New Bern. Memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 708 South Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
