Obituary: Concord, NC- Margie Agner Menius, age 86, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born November 18, 1926 in Edgefield County, SC, the daughter of the late W.E. Agner and Nettie Willis Agner. Margie was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company having worked at both Plant One and Plant Six in the Sheet Depts. for forty-five years until her retirement. She held her church membership at Bethel Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC and was affiliated with the V.F.W. Poston-Perkins Post 8989 in the Women's Auxiliary. Margie and her late husband, Frank played jokes on each other before their marriage. She loved to work in the yard and flowers were her pride and joy. She had grown famous tomatoes and always shared them with her community. She had dedicated her later life to the care of her sister and also had cared for her mother until her death. She is fondly remembered as a woman that did not like to wear shoes. She was an amazing cook and baker. Margie loved all of her children and grandchildren dearly. As a conclusion to her biography, she was sneaky and always tried to surprise someone loved with a good laugh. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Frank Menius, Sr.; three brothers, Bo Agner, Henry Agner, and Ernest Agner; and two sisters, Mertice Johnson and Liz Agner. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Joe Harding, Jr. Burial will be private earlier with the family at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include one son, Neal Frank Menius, Jr. & wife, Linda of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Candy Hardin & husband, Doug, April Menius, Amy Chunn, and Jamie Menius; great-grandchildren, Penny Rosdhal, Christopher Lofty, Nathan Hardin, Nowell Hardin & wife, Rachael, Stephen Chunn, Brittany Chunn, Hannah Menius, Heather Stone, and Lucas Stone; and great-great-grandchildren, Margie K. Ware & husband, Eric, Cortney Rosdhal, Dustin Rosdhal, Cade Hardin, and Alyssa Griffin; a future great-great-great-baby Ware; and one sister, Lila Barnhardt of Concord, NC.
