Marie H. Arledge

Obituary: Marie H. Arledge, 87, of Concord passed away Wednesday, June 18th at Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis NC. Kathleen Marie Helms was born January 27, 1927 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the daughter of the late William and Pearl Helms. On June 9, 1953, she married Wayne Thomas Arledge, our beloved father who passed away in 1981. Memorial services for Mrs. Arledge will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Royal Oaks United Methodist Church, 1017 Dakota Street, Kannapolis NC. The family will receive friends following the services at the church. Marie grew up in Kannapolis, North Carolina, surrounded by brothers and sisters, who remained supportive of each other until they departed from this life. As in her youth, Marie had never met a stranger, and always available for family and friends with open ears and heart. One never left her home without a full stomach. She lived a life dedicated to her faith, husband, and children. She is survived by her children; Mark Arledge, Lake Wylie, SC, and Donna St. Claire, Huntersville, NC. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters of the Helms family; Pete, Woody, Inez, Louise, James, George, and Bobby.
