Marie Robinson Dixon

Obituary: Marie Robinson Dixon, age 80, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born October 12, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Lester William Robinson and Annie Mae Severt Robinson. Marie was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant #4, Cloth Room for many years until her retirement due to ill health. She was a member of the former Fisher Street Church of God, Concord, NC where she played the organ there. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking, shopping especially with QVC, the home shopping network; and listening to Gospel music mainly the Gaithers group. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Worth Dixon; and her brother, Bill Robinson. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jeff Burris. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday November 29, 2012 at the funeral home. Survivors include her brother, Nevin Robinson & wife, Linda of Kannapolis, NC, her sister, Rachel Dixon of Concord, NC; four nieces, Sharon Dixon Davis & husband, Ron of Kannapolis, NC and Nevina Christy & husband, Buddy of Concord, NC; Pam Sherrill & husband, Charles and Vickie Cooper & husband, Dan, both of Concord, NC; and several other grandnieces and nephews. Memorials may be made Harvest Community Church, 4284 Orphanage Road, Concord, NC 28027.
