Obituary: Marie Munday Teague of Kannapolis peacefully passed away in her sleep on the morning of Saturday, December 14th, 2013. The third daughter of the late Lexie and Jessie Munday of Kannpolis, North Carolina and sister to Opal, Janice, and the late Rachel and Warren. After finishing her years at Cannon High, Marie married her high school sweetheart the late Harold Teague. Marie lived the early part of her married life as a loving homemaker, devoted to her husband, daughter, and son. Marie had always loved to surround herself with young children. After her children were grown, Marie continued her love of caring for young children by dedicating 28 years of her life to working at Aycock Elementary (later renamed Forest Park Elementary) School. Marie lived a long happy life full of time spent with her family and laughs shared with her friends. People loved to surround themselves with Marie always complimenting her on her flair for fashion and her sense of humor. Marie was a fan of the musical arts, and had many favorite artists. Whenever she would hear a song, nothing could stop Marie from dancing and singing along. Marie's loving memory is survived by her daughter Kathey Teague-McCollister, son Phillip Teague, son-in law Richard McCollister, daughter-in law Kelly Teague, grandson Andrew McCollister, sister Opal Munday Bloom, sister Janice Munday Haithcock, and all of the other people whose lives she has touched. Marie's life and memory will be honored at her memorial service held on Tuesday, Dec. 17th at 3:00 PM at Marie's long time church Trinity United Methodist officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior at the church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
