Marion Campbell Mclain

Obituary: Marion Campbell McLain, 83, of Concord passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Five Oaks Nursing Center. She was born November 5, 1929 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Carl A. Campbell Sr. and Ethel Powell Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. (Mack) McLain on May 20, 1990. In her earlier years she worked at the former Walgreen Drug Co. in Kannapolis. Later, she worked at the former Stayon Products in Landis for many years until she retired due to disability in 1978. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Sexton. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 prior at Whitley's. At other times, they will be at a daughter's home, Judy Honeycutt. She is survived by two daughters, Judy M. Honeycutt (Mike) of Concord, Janet M. Simmons (Mike) of Kannapolis, two brothers, John and Preston Campbell both of Kannapolis, two sisters, Ruth Purser and Peggy Linker both of Kannapolis, 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
