Mark Wayne Haney

Obituary: Mark Wayne Haney, 57, died at his home on Friday, January 23, 2015, following an extended period of declining health. Mr. Haney is survived by Ted W. Haney, father, Polly M. Haney, step-mother, and Timothy W. Haney, half-brother, all of Charlotte; Amy H. Rucker, daughter, and Devin Rucker, grandson, of Kannapolis; his long-time companion, Tracey Thomas, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by Mary Frances Moon, mother; Bruce and Gladys Haney, and Lloyd and Zuline Moon, grandparents. Mark was born on August 15, 1957, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from South Rowan High School in 1976. He was employed for a number of years for Quality Sprinkler Company. He has always made his home in the Rowan County area. His interests included classic cars, fishing, and just enjoying the outdoors. Whitley's Funeral Home is handling the arrangements; and a graveside memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Mike Hubbard.
