Mark Wayne Mcclure

Obituary: Mark Wayne McClure, age 51, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle/automobile accident. He was born April 7, 1959 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Edward Worth McClure and Helen Layton McClure. He was a 1977 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School and Western Carolina University in 1981. He was employed as a buyer/planner with Ingersoll-Rand, Mocksville, NC for 21 years. He was an avid motorcycle rider who also enjoyed watching baseball and football games as well as stock car racing. He was thought of by family and friends for enjoying the simpler things of life. The funeral service will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by his brother, Rev. Eddie McClure, pastor of the First Wesleyan Church, Siler City, NC. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. Survivors in addition to his brother include his wife of fifteen years, Tina McClure; paternal aunts and uncles, Charles McClure of Kannapolis, NC, Osceida Clontz of Concord, NC, Edith Turner of Concord, NC, Sadie Riley Eudy, and Marcel Cox of Texas; Maternal aunts and uncles, Hoy & Charlene Layton of Gainesville, GA, Mrs. Jean Layton of Montgomery, AL, William Furr of Columbia, SC, Terry Layton of Winston-Salem, NC, R.C. Layton of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Mrs. Abby Layton of Mooresville, NC; A sister-in-law, Sylvia McClure of Siler City, NC; a nephew, Lee McClure of Kannapolis, NC and Laura McClure of Greensboro, NC; and a number of brothers & sisters-in-law, and other relatives.
