Mark Richard Owens

Obituary: Mark Richard Owens, age 59, died unexpectedly Monday, September 19, 2011 at his home.He was born December 20, 1951 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Juanelle Strickland Owens and the late H.T. Owens. Mark owned & operated Mark's Service & Convenience, China Grove, NC for 25 years. In later years he worked for Mid-State Machines, Mt. Ulla, NC. His family fondly remembers his love of fishing and motorsports. He was very supportive of his wife and son.The funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Brian Duncan. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of 37 years, Nadine Jeffers Owens; his son, Jonathan Owens & wife, Andrea of China Grove, NC.Memorials may be made to High Rock Community Church, 7800 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Interment: Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC.
