Mark Andrews Simmons

Obituary: Mark Andrew Simmons, 43, of China Grove died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his residence following a period of declining health. Mark was born June 14, 1969 in Cabarrus County, son of Robert Lee Simmons of Kannapolis and the late Sheron Elaine Callicutt Simmons Ross. He was an active member of Royal Oaks United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing golf, NASCAR and football. He was an Eagle Scout, earning this honor at age 16. He was employed for 11 years with Rowan Regional Medical Center where he was Sgt. of public safety. He was a veteran of the US Army. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Royal Oaks United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Paul Strahan and Rev. Millie Orbison. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church cemetery in Rockwell, NC. At other times the family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Yon, 2270 Lentz Road, China Grove, NC. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Krista Michelle Yon Simmons , daughter, Michaella Simmons, three sons, Andrew Ryan And Dustin Simmons all of the Home. Two brothers, Robbie and Ricky Simmons both of Kannapolis, two sisters, Sandra Simmons of Kannapolis and Pennie Wolper of Millingport, father, Robert Lee Simmons and stepmother Barbara Simmons of Kannapolis.
