Marlene Kay Carroll, 83, of Davidson, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, after a lengthy illness and declining health, including a battle with dementia.

Born on December 13, 1941, in Concord, she was the daughter of Juanita and Farrell Faggart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carroll; her sister, Kathy Shropshire; and her brother, Doug Faggart.

A graduate of Harrisburg High School, Kay worked at Collins and Aikman and also Hertz Truck Leasing. She later co-founded Cardinal Contract Carriers and served until her retirement as Director of Administration.

Kay was an active member and past president of the American Business Women’s Association. She enjoyed painting, cross stitching, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with family and her pets.

Loving family members include her daughters Heidi Fallin (Heath) and Jill Rogers (Michael); her cherished grandsons P.J. Rogers (Jordan) and Samuel Rogers; great-grandson Hagen Rogers her sister Diane Parr and extended family members.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor the life of Mrs. Carroll will begin with visitation at 12:30 p.m. preceding the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at Whitley’s Funeral Home, with Reverend Greg Hamilton of Indian Trail United Methodist Church, Concord, will officiate.
