Marsha Ann Besig

Obituary: Marsha Ann Woodard Besig, 58, of Kannapolis, died at her home on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018. Death was unexpected. Marsha was born on July 22, 1959, a daughter of Norma Lynn Moser Woodard of Kannapolis and the late Jerry Wayne Woodard. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, John "Buddy" Besig, Jr. who died on Aug. 15, 2013. Marsha was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a generous, caring lady who would always put others before herself. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Chris Vinsant (Megan) of Kannapolis and her daughter; Laura Almond (Matt) of China Grove, NC; a grandson, Avery Almond her mother, Norma Woodard of Kannapolis. Also, two sisters; Wanda Pierce (Brian) of Rock Hill, SC and Lisa Cheek (Rick) of Mt. Airy, NC. The service for Mrs. Besig will take place at 2:00p.m., Monday, Feb. 5th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Steve Hogge. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
