Marshall Chandler Thurston, 27 years old, of Kannapolis, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2023. Marshall was born on January 31, 1996, in Mecklenburg County to John Thurston and Melissa Phillips.
Marshall attended Kannapolis Middle School and A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis. He loved to fish with his kids, make people laugh, and hang out at Riverpark at Cooleemee Falls: The Bullhole with his friends. Marshall was excited to find out that he was going to be a father again, as his girlfriend, Brennah is expecting on November 15th.
Marshall was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Wade Phillips, his paternal grandparents, George and Judy Thurston, and his uncle Walker Thurston. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Melissa Phillips; his father, John Thurston; his son, Hunter Thurston; his daughter, Emory Thurston; his maternal grandmother, Gail Phillips; his brothers, Foster Thurston, his identical twin, and Jacob Phillips; his sister, Kaitlyn Anderson; his aunts, Lori Jordan (Rusty), Jill Thurston (Bonnie), and April Burel (Brad), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 6-7pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Randy Wadford.
