Martha Opal Trivett Hodges

Obituary: Martha Opal Trivett Hodges, 92 of Kannapolis passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 following a period of declining health. Mrs. Hodges was born in Avery County, NC on December 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Leroy Roscoe Trivett and Mary Etta Gwyn Trivett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Silas N. Hodges who died in 1984. Mrs. Hodges was formerly employed in the #7 spinning room at Cannon Mills and later was a nurse at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Funeral services for Mrs. Hodges will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Pearlie Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home on Saturday. Survivors include her son; Ned Hodges and wife Linda of Kannapolis, daughters; Jeanette Kidd and husband Weyman of Kannapolis, and Carolyn Lyman and husband Gene of Berlin, MD., 6 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
