Martha "Sue" Lipe Litaker

Obituary: Martha "Sue" Lipe Litaker, 78, of Kannapolis passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born December 18, 1934 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Jason and Margaret Lipe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spencer Litaker, a daughter, Linda Diane Litaker and a brother, James Edward Lipe. Sue retired from Cannon Mills after 39 years where she had worked in the # 1 and # 5 Weave Rooms. She was a member of the Kannapolis Church of God. Sue loved her work family and her church family, but most of all loved spending time with children and grandchildren. She loved planting flowers in her yard, baking, making pies and quilting. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 23rd at Kannapolis Church of God officiated by Rev. Sam Crisp. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. She is survived by her daughters, Janet L. Jordan of China Grove, Pamela Dancy of China Grove, four grandchildren, Chad Stephens, Christopher Griffin, Meggan Dancy, Christopher Jordan, 6 great grandchildren, and her sister, Hazel Lipe Moore of China Grove.
