Obituary: Martha Pauline "Polly" Long Parham, 80, of Kannapolis; until due to declining health had to move to Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the nursing center. Polly was born August 28, 1934 in Polk Co. Tenn. a daughter of the late Homer Harrison Long and Martha Suzanne Fox Long. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Arnold Parham, Sr. who died April 11, 2009, and by five brothers and two sisters. She was employed at Cannon Mills as an inspector for over forty years. Polly was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spoiling her family. She loved the Lord and continued to witness for him even during her illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Chaplain Sandy Hancock. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence of the son, Henry Parham, II of Mooresville. Survivors include one son, Henry Parham, II of Mooresville, one daughter, Becky Parham Stewart (Erick) of High Point, four grandchildren; Nichole Tucker, Alison Tucker, Alex Parham, and Abby Parham. Eight great grandchildren also survive.
