Martha Barbee Sellers

Obituary: Martha Barbee Sellers, 86, formerly of Concord died on Feb. 8, 2012 at Big Elm Retirement Center in Kannapolis. Mrs. Sellers was born in Cabarrus County on April 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles Rowan Barbee and the late Beulah Mary Hartsell Barbee Furr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Jerome Sellers and a sister, Grace Allred. She was a live long resident of this area and a founding member of Wil-Mar Park Baptist Church. She worked for 26 years in the Drawin Room for the former Cannon Mills Company. She was a loving mother and always eager to help her children and grandchildren. She loved to stay close to her home and her family. She is survived by her 2 sons, Jerry Sellers and Hoyle Sellers (Peggy) both of Concord; a daughter, Sondra Eddings (Randal) of Concord; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. Also, by a brother, Walter Barbee and a sister, Lula White both of Concord. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 13th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. before the service.
