Martha Lowder Spry

Obituary: Martha Jane Lowder Spry, 79, of China Grove, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at her home after a period of declining health. A memorial service to celebrate Martha's life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 26 at Parkwood Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Sherrill officiating. Her family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday prior to the memorial service. Martha was born July 2, 1938 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Jason Lee and Mary MacDonald Lowder. She was a lifelong area resident and long-time member of Parkwood Baptist Church where she was part of the ministry for the hearing impaired. Martha worked for Cannon Mills in earlier years and then for the local public schools and community college as an interpreter for the hearing impaired. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Spry. She is survived by her sons; David Bryant Spry and wife, Paula of China Grove, Anthony "Dean" Spry and wife, Patricia of Jacksonville FL and her daughter, Tamara Renee Linn, her sister, Betty Garrett and husband, Ronald of Cameron NC, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
