Martha Rogers Wilkerson

Obituary: Martha Faye Rogers Wilkerson, age 76, of China Grove died at her residence on Thursday, March 23, 2017 after a period of declining health. A going away party will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 27 at Bethpage United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Portis and Rev. Duane Melton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday, March 26 at Whitley's Funeral from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Martha was born January 15, 1941 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Emma Olaphant Rogers. She attended Landis High School, and a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. Martha was a loving home-maker for her family. She enjoyed living at Charlotte and Sunset Beach with her husband and then moved back to this area. She enjoyed having friends over for parties, also working with crafts, and yard work. Martha is survived by her husband, Jimmie Charles Wilkerson, Sr. of the home, her son, Jimmie Charles Wilkerson, Jr. (Pam) of Charlotte and her daughter, Jeanette W. Splawn (Kenny) of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Ray Rogers (Pat) of Kannapolis, N.C.
