Martin Ray Allison

Obituary: Martin Ray Allison, age 72 of Concord died Monday, January 14, 2013 at CMC-NE in Concord after a period of declining health. His funeral will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, January 18 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 17 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. At other times they will be at the family home. Martin was born January 4, 1941 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Hoyle Allison, Sr. and Annie Lee Overcash Allison. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Hoyle Allison, Jr. He was a life long area resident. Martin was a certified Tool and Die maker and worked for various companies such as Worthington and Ingersol-Rand. He retired from Phillip Morris. He enjoyed hunting, car races and spending time with his family and granddaughters. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed. Martin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy Furr Allison of the family home, his daughters; Lisa A. Cole (Todd) of Midland and Marcy Allison , his son, Todd Allison and granddaughters, Taylor and Audrey Allison and his sister, Sarah Lomax (Brady) and brother, Frankie Allison -all of concord and sister in law Martha Ann Allison of Columbia.
