Marvin "Marty" William Campbell Jr.

Marvin “Marty” William Campbell Jr., 57, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2025. 

Marty was born on March 10, 1967, in Cabarrus County. He was the cherished son of M.W. “Marty” Campbell Sr. and the late Clara Jo Overcash.

Marty was a devoted member of Piedmont Baptist Church, where he faithfully served the Lord and found joy in the fellowship of his church family.

 Marty had a passion for life and was known for his love of the outdoors. He found peace on the golf course, and in the woods, where he enjoyed deer hunting with close friends. He and his wife shared a special bond in seeking out waterfalls. 

Above all, Marty cherished his family. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was evident in everything he did. Marty’s legacy is one of faith, love, and devotion. He will be deeply missed by his family, church, and friends, but we take comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of Jesus. 

Those left to cherish his memory in addition to father, M.W. “Marty” Campbell (LuAnn) include his loving wife, Tammy Bost Campbell, children, Maeghan Smith (Ian), Michael Campbell (Bri), and Madyson Matthews (Bradley); grandchildren, Mavery, Carrington, Beckham, and Meyer “BoBo”; sister, Tesha Sigmon (Val); nieces, Kyndal Sigmon, and Kamryn Sigmon, and life- long best friend, Gregg Seaford. 

Funeral services celebrating Marty’s life will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Piedmont Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and run just prior to the funeral at 2:00 PM in the church on Thursday, with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
