Mary Adams

Obituary: Mary Lawing Adams, 76, of Landis, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born November 27, 1939 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Ray and Ida Mae Goodnight Lawing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Labon Franklin Adams who died November 9, 2009. In her early years she was employed by Cannon Mills and later at Formex. She was of the Freewill Holliness Faith. Mary enjoyed gardening, crocheting, a being a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include three sons, Franklin Adams of Kannapolis, Mike Adams and wife Jan of China Grove, Christopher Adams and wife Michelle Adams of Moravian Falls. Three daughters Angela Baker, Dollie Adams and Candie Presley all of Landis, nine grandchildren and thirteen grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Mountlawn Memorial Park in North Wilkesboro. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC, 28081. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Adams.
