Mary Martha Brumley

Obituary: Mary Martha Owens Brumley, age 63, of 111 Westover Ave died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 28 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Felts officiating. Burial will follow at St. Enoch's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mrs. Brumley was born September 18, 1945 in Winnsboro, SC to the late Oscar Owens and the late Lilly Mae Windham Owens. She was educated in South Carolina Schools. She worked for Cannon Mills for 28 years as a wash cloth dept. as a hemmer. She is survived by her husband, Paul Brumley of the home, her son, David H. Bailey and her daughter, Sharon Bailey , both of Kannapolis and her step-son, Paul L. Brumley of China Grove, 9 grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 6 brothers;Clifton Owens of Cheraw SC, Artha Owens of Ruby SC, John Owens of Kannapolis, Ernest Owens of Chesterfield SC, Charlie Owens of Pageland SC, Ronnie Owens of Ruby SC; and 3 sisters, Patricia Owens of Ruby SC, Jannie Mae Owens of Pageland SC and Carolyn Hamilton of Mt. Croghan SC. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Brumley family.
