Mary Elizabeth (Moore) Carter

Mary Elizabeth Moore Carter, 98 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2022.  Mary was born on May 26, 1923 in Wilkes County, NC to the late James W. and Gertie Greer Moore.

She worked for Cannon Mill for 20 + years.  Mary enjoyed canning, gardening, baking, and crocheting. She loved children and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She was a charter member and the oldest living member of Charity Baptist Church.

Mary was predeceased by her husband William F. Carter in 2005 and her son Roger Dale Carter in 1993. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Rodger W. Carter and his wife Janice and Robert F. Carter and his wife Jane; her brother, Rev. James “Junior” Moore; her sister, Addie Marlowe; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and twenty-two great great grandchildren. Her daughter, Linda Carter Loan, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 1-2pm at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC with a funeral service to follow at 2pm.  Interment will take place at Carolina Memorial Park following the funeral service.
