Mary Deal Cavin

Obituary: Mary Deal Cavin, age 75, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at her home after 2 ½ years of declining health and 1 month of serious illness. She was born July 18, 1934 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Elmer Harvey Deal and Lillie Estella Adams. She was employed with the former Terry Products, Inc. for many years until her retirement in 1995. She had also worked at Cannon Mills Company, Puritan & Nubrite Cleaners for many years prior to Terry Products. She was viewed by her family and friends as enjoying various crafts, growing flowers, and canning green beans as special pastimes in her life. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother especially by her family. The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Lee Cavin; one son, Rick Cavin & wife, Regana of China Grove, NC; one daughter, Debra Renee Cavin of the home; three grandchildren, Chris Cavin and Rocky Cavin, both of Kannapolis, NC and Reena Cavin China Grove, NC; and two sisters, Annie Elledge of China Grove, NC and Beatrice Price of Winston-Salem, NC.
