Obituary: Mary Ann Robinson Clay, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Brian Center, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. She was born August 12, 1953 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Bennie Leeroy Robinson and Lillie Elnita Ammons Robinson. Mary was employed for many years as a caregiver for Cabarrus Home Health Care. She was also a member of the Baptist faith throughout her life. She is remembered by her family as loving to sing to karaoke and spend quality time with her two dogs, a Chihuahua and a Shih tzu. Her sister was also a special presence in her life having spent many precious hours with her in sisterly fellowship over the years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Franklin Clay; and a grandson, Tyler Sellers. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 5, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Chris Messina. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral Home prior to the service. Survivors include two sons, Terry Morton, Jr. & wife, Tabatha and Ron Morton & wife, Donna, both of Kannapolis, NC; three grandchildren, Dustin Morton, Terry Morton, III, and McKenzie Morton; one sister, Dwana Everhart of Kannapolis, NC; and her two little canines, Mattie Mae and Tinkerbell. The family would like to say a special thank you to Peggy Bowlin, an aunt, for her continuing help and support given to Mary during this difficult time in her life.
