Mary Lee Carnes Davis

Obituary: Mary Lee Carnes Davis, 96, of Kannapolis died January 1, 2010 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born November 13,1913 in Union County, the daughter of the late William Raymond Carnes and Martha Parker Carnes. Her husband, James Thomas Davis preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1979. She retired from Cannon Mills Co where she had worked in the cutting department. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday Jan. 3, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Dave Cash. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 prior to the service. She is survived by 3 sisters: Frances Byrd of Kannapolis, Lois Shivers and husband Vern of High Point, and Raymelle Aiken and husband Arnold of Garner, Niece: Nancy Barger and husband Scott of Kannapolis and a number of other nieces and nephews.
