Mary Peeler Fortune

Obituary: Mary Ida Peeler Fortune, 88, of Kannapolis passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at CMC-Northeast following a short illness. She was born April 16, 1925 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Hoy A. and Gertrude Miller Peeler. Mrs .Fortune was a member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Bill H. Fortune, Jr, (Diane) of Wilmington, NC, one granddaughter, Natalie D. Felts (Shane) of Kannapolis, sister, Sue Peeler Lyerly (Joe) of Granite Quarry, two brothers, Hoy Peeler Jr. of Salisbury and Rev. James Peeler (Carolyn) of Thomasville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Peeler, Margaret Bratton and Mary Alice Troutman and one brother, George Peeler. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by her brother, Rev. James Peeler. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum.
