Mary Daniels Freeman

Obituary: Mary Magdalene Daniels Freeman, 85 of Concord went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 11, 2013 after many years of suffering and pain. Mary was born on February 11, 1928 in Dillon County, SC, a daughter of the late Rev. J.H. and Lela Powers Daniels. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Matthew H. and Paul R. Daniels and 2 sisters; Thelma D. Dunning and Marie D. Gaskill. Mary was a graduate of Hope Mills High School, and a 1949 graduate of Cabarrus School of Nursing. Mary was employed as a registered nurse at the former Cabarrus Hospital. A funeral service in celebration of Mary's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Tilley and Rev. Darryl Evans officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her son Mike Freeman of Landis, a grandson; Clint Freeman of Greenwood, SC, two great grandchildren; Kenneth Freeman and Kameron Sherrill, two brothers; Dr. John J. Daniels and wife Jan of Lovettsville, VA., and Joseph A. Daniels and wife Anita of Hopewell, VA., a sister; Phyllis Daniels Tilley and husband Rev. Jimmy Tilley of Stanley, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Five Oaks Manor for their compassion, and care during Mary's stay there at Five Oaks.
