Mary Pressley Gohn

Obituary: Mary Kathleen Pressley Gohn, 83, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday May 16, 2012 at Transitional Health Care System of Kannapolis. Mrs. Gohn was born May 1, 1929 in Concord, NC to the late Walter and Carrie Burkett Pressley. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and she was an active member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years Vernard Gohn; twin daughters, Kathy Doster and her husband Bobby and Jackie Linker and her husband Gary; four grandchildren, Amy Jung and her husband Andy, Kristin Trick and her husband Matthew, Meredith Valentine and her husband Toss, and Phillip Linker and his wife, Jera; five great grandchildren, Andrew Trick, Anna Trick, Stuart Valentine, Oliver Valentine and Ansley Linker. She is also survived by one brother, Charlie Pressley and was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, and one brother. A celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Parkwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Waters, Rev. Darrell Coble, and Rev. Andy Jung officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family would like to say a special thank you to special friends Linda Staton and Linda Howell; and to the staff and doctors of Transitional Health Care Systems. Memorials can be made at Parkwood Baptist Church, to the Children's Ministry Scholarship Fund, 1069 Central Dr. NW Concord, NC 28027.
