Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Dancy Hare, 83, of Kannapolis died Friday, March 8, 2013 at CMC-NE after 18 months declining health. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday. Mary was born June 15, 1929 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Robert L. and Katie Mae Jones Dancy. She was a life-long area resident and together with her husband, Jack, owned and operated Glenn's BBQ in Kannapolis for over 25 years until retiring. She was a member of Landis Baptist Church. Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents' Mary was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Wallace and her husband, Jack Hare and she was the last of 4 siblings. Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Clanton and her son, Terry Clanton, both of Kannapolis and her son, Kenneth Clanton of Harrisburg and 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
