Obituary: Mary Ann Brown Holder, age 70, of Concord died September 27, 2010 at CMC-NE after a period of declining health. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, October 3rd at Rocky River Baptist Church in Concord. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Mary Ann was born September 30, 1939 in Asheville, NC to the late James and Ollie Wells Brown. She moved here from Asheville in 2000 to be near her daughters. In earlier years she worked for Guilford Mills in Greensboro. She was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church in Concord. Mary Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a special fondness for people, children and animals. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Joseph Waynick. She is survived by her daughters; Donna Waynick and Michelle L. Forsythe (Bill), all of Concord, her granddaughters; Casey Nicole Rockwell and Ashley Aleece Forsythe. Her brothers are Doug Brown and James "Lewie" Brown, both of Asheville.
