Mary Linker

May 20, 1934 — September 6, 2017

Obituary: Mary Lou "Betty" Rogers Linker, 83, met her heavenly father on Friday, September 1, 2017, at CHS-Northeast Medical Center. Born May 20, 1934 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Mary Elizabeth Scercy Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Billy Ray Linker, a son Rocky Linker and 9 siblings. Betty Lou had worked for Cannon and Linn-Corriher Mills for many years. She loved working in her yard and with her flowers. A wonderful cook, everyone enjoyed her delicious meals. Mrs. Linker was a loyal member of Unity United Methodist Church, as long as she was able to attend. A devoted and loving wife, mother and friend to many, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family members left with many loving memories include her son Ricky Linker (Faye) of China Grove; her foster daughter Tiffany Hayes, and her children Kristopher and Kori Hayes, also of China Grove; her brothers Raymond Rogers, Ken Rogers (Betty Jean) and Carl Rogers (Colleen), all of Kannapolis, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to a niece, Wendy Litaker. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 6th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mrs. Linker's life will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Tim Whittington. Mrs. Linker will be laid to rest beside her husband in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery.
