Mary Lee Burnette McCorkle, 77, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Mary Lee was born September 17, 1943 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Bernard Leonard Burnette and Maudie Lee Burgess Burnette Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren; Nicholas Dillard and Julie Beach.
Mary Lee McCorkle owned and operated the China Grove Flower Shop for 25 years with her love and talent of flowers. She loved to plant and grow flowers at her home. She had danced competively at Fred Astaire Dance Studio’s.
There will be a graveside service held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 10, 2020 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Danny Pope. The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. prior to the graveside service
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Jerry E. McCorkle of the Home, a son, John McCorkle and wife Sandra of Salisbury and a daughter, Meloney McCorkle of Kannapolis, two grandchildren, Mason McCorkle and Samantha Gallimore. Six great grandchildren also survive along with her brother, Leonard (Patty) Burnette of Jacksonville, Fa.
