Mary Helen Miller

Obituary: Mary Helen Smith Miller, 81, of Concord, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her residence. She was born September 22, 1931 in McDowell County, NC a daughter of the late Eliza F. and Lela Garland Smith. She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. For many years she worked as an inspector in the washcloth dept. of Plant #1, Cannon Mills, and later was product demonstrator for Promo Works. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Darrell Coble. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the funeral service. At other times they will be at the residence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Smith. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, George "Bud" Miller, Jr. of the home. One son, Keith Miler of San Francisco, Ca., one daughter, Becky Miller Blakeley of Harrisburg, granddaughter, Leah K. Blakeley of Wilmington, and two sisters, Martha Murray of Shelby and Joyce Gibson of Marion. Memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr NW, Concord, NC 28027.
