Obituary: Maryann Brigman Nance, 65 of Concord went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2010 when she was freed from her earthly body and the grip of A.L. S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born December 11, 1944 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Gilbert Brigman and Ola Honeycutt Brigman Troutman. She was a 1963 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. In early life she was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church and at the time of her death she was member of Dayspring Community Church. She helped establish and was medical administrator of cardiology and internal medicine clinics in Charlotte. She was long time manager of Cabarrus Orthopedic Clinic. In addition, she was the owner of Creative Cakes. She was truly a world traveler, having visited many countries. Some of her favorite locations were Hawaii, Aruba, Paris and New York City. Though she enjoyed traveling ,her favorite pastimes were shared at home with her family, especially her granddaughters. Her faith in God and the resurrection sustained her during her illness. She is survived by her husband, Mason Nance of the Home, a daughter: Kim Milem and husband Mike of Rockwell, two granddaughters: Ashley Perryman of Charleston and Brittany Perryman of Rockwell. Two Brothers: Bob Brigman of Hillsville, Va., and Junior Brigman and wife Doris of Mt. Pleasant. Also one sister: Dean Icard and husband Jim of Kannapolis. A Service of Celebration of her life will be held 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Dayspring Community Church in China Grove conducted by Rev. Gerry Steedley, pastor. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:30-5:00 P.M. prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials to Mrs. Nance's memory be made to Dayspring Community Church, Building Fund, 490 Lentz Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
