Mary Louise Lowder Payne

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Mary Louise Lowder Payne, age 90, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born September 15, 1919 in Philadelphia County, PA, the daughter of the late Register M. Lowder and Mary Elizabeth Lowder. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt#1 Wash Cloth Dept. for 35 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC where she had been active in Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Yates S. Payne, who died in 2001; and four brothers, Jim Lowder, Robert Lowder, Alvin Lowder, and John Lowder; and one grandson, Steven Anderson. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Richard Rhoades. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include three daughters, Elsie Pethel & husband, Kenneth and Sylvia Anderson & husband, Larry, both of Kannapolis, NC, and Brenda Allen & husband, Chuck of Concord, NC; two sons, Frank Payne & wife, Ann of Concord, NC and Gene Payne of Kannapolis, NC; Twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Hammonds of Kannapolis, NC.
