Obituary: Durham, NC and Concord, NC- Mary Lee Demby Bennett Seaford, 92, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center. Mrs. Bennett was born in Pageland, South Carolina June 15, 1921 to the late Joseph Alexander Demby and Ruth Rivers Demby she was the last of her 11 siblings. Mary retired from Cannon Mills Weave room #3 after 45 years of service; she was of the Methodist faith and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was married 44 years to the late A.J. Bennett her first husband. Survivors include her second husband, Clyde David Seaford whom she married in 1985; a daughter, by her first marriage Agnes Bennett Hughes and her husband, J.L. Hughes, Jr., five grandsons, Jennings "Trey" L. Hughes, III, Acie Jim Hughes (Chris), Bradley Shawn Hughes (Sheri), Brian Shane Hughes (Leah), and Stephen Bennett Hughes (Perla); and four great grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Hughes, Bailey Bennett Hughes, Bradley Shawn Hughes, Jr. and Brandon Scott Hughes. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Don Morphis officiating.
