They also enjoyed camping with many family and friends throughout the summers traveling to the mountains and the beaches. If that was not enough, Mary was also known from Concord to Pigeon Forge to be "one of the greatest potato salad makers and banana pudding creators" known to man. She could also serve up a wonderful red velvet cake to her family. Some of her family even recalls her love of "shooting pistols" and winning trophies bowling over the years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Charles W. Spears, Jr. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord, NC officiated by Rev. Michael Waters and Rev. Darrell Coble. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at Parkwood Baptist Church.
