Obituary: Kannapolis - Mary Lillian Summerford , 84, of 218 Richard Ave., Kannapolis died Thursday May 7, 2009 at CMC Northeast. She was born October 12, 1924 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Walter and Bessie Ballard Sides. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Delaware Summerford, a brother Harold Sides and a sister Louise Church. She retired from Cannon Mills Co Plant 1 Cloth Room after 44 years. She was a member of First Evangelical Methodist Church where she was active in the senior group. She loved to sew and she loved music but most of all she loved her family and her church. Her funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday May 9, 2009 at First Evangelical Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Howard Torrence and Rev. David Hayes. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:00 at the church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at her sons's home, Terry Summerford 1108 Sunset Drive Kannapolis, NC. She is survived by two sons, Keith Paul Summerford (Mary Harris Summerford) of North Wilkesboro, Terry Summerford (Cari Funderburk Summerford) of Kannapolis, a sister Dorothy Sellers of Kannapolis, four grandchildren: Daniel Ray Summerford (Natasha Harrold), Keith Paul Summerford II, Trevor Ryan Summerford, and Tarin Nicole Summerford, two greatgrandchildren: Aiden Daniel Summerford and Audrey Rose Summerford.
