Obituary: Mary "Lib" Cannon Taylor, 90, of 1611 West A Street went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord. She was born August 12, 1919 in McDowell County a daughter of the late Thomas Richard and Julie Elizabeth Gardner Cannon. She had retired from many years of service with Cannon Mills Plant #1 Spinning Room. She was an active member of West A Church of God where she was a member of the Queen Esther Sunday School Class, active in visiting shut-ins', and participating in the chicken and dumpling suppers and funeral meals. She was an avid reader especially of the Bible. She dearly loved her family; especially her two granddaughters and three greatgrandsons. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 17, 2009 at West A Church of God conducted by Rev. Sam Crisp. The family will receive friends at the church 1:30-3:00 P.M. prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at the residence. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Don Savage and Charles Taylor. She was also preceded in death by nine Brothers and Sisters. She is survived by one Daughter: Cindy Jones and husband Howard of Kannapolis, two granddaughters: Cheryl Dearmon and Husband Eric of Kannapolis, and Gidget Harkey of Salisbury. Also survived by three greatgrandsons Josh and Zack Deaton and Mitchell Harkey. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Taylor.
