Obituary: Mary Little Thomas, 94 of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 15 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Littlejohn officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. She was born September 24, 1923 in Union County to the late Claude P. and Mittie Phifer Little. Mary worked at Cannon Mills for 25 Years, retiring in 1985, she was an active Member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and word searches. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband James Harold Thomas, an infant daughter Brenda Thomas, three sisters and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory, a daughter Beverly Gruno (Michael Dale) of Cherryville, a son James Lynn Thomas (Julie Renea) of China Grove, one grandson, James Brandon Thomas of Kannapolis, one granddaughter Jada Carpenter of Kannapolis and two great-grandchildren.
