Mary Elizabeth (Adams) Tilley

Mary Adams Tilley, 91, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Tucker Hospice House.
She was born June 7, 1933 in Cabarrus Co. to the late James Alfred Adams and Annie Belle Chastain.
Mary was in the last graduating class of Cannon High School in 1951. She was a volunteer for the Kannapolis City Schools for many years tutoring students, she also volunteered at the Church of God Children's Home, she was affectionately known as "Grandma T" to her students, she enjoyed children and talking to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Tilley and two sisters Sue Adams and Maggie Adams.
Those left to cherish her memory, her five children; Jack Tilley Jr. of Rockwell, Steve Tilley (Rhonda) of Kannapolis, Mike Tilley (Melanie) of West Virginia, Julie Pope (Grant) of Atlanta, Ben Tilley of Kannapolis, 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 18, 2024 at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Allen officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 -11 AM Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church.
