Mary Louise Whitley

Obituary: Mary Louise Whitley, 100, of Landis passed away, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Liberty Commons. She was born May 2, 1918 in Stanley Co. to the late Wade B. Parker and Bertha E. Burton Parker. Louise worked for Corriher Mill for many years, she was a member of Genesis Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years, and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, she will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Whitley in 2005. Those left to cherish her memory, her son Aaron Whitley (Susan) of Landis, two granddaughters, Megan Long (Brandon) of Kannapolis, Candice Carter (Bobby) of Rockwell, five Great grandchildren, Brayden and Grayson Carter, Mason, McKinlee, and Mavrick Long. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Genesis Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Rodger Bostic officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Tuesday prior to the service at Genesis Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Genesis Baptist Church, 9710 Old Concord Rd, China Grove, NC 28023.
